Re-opening for Worship

As many of you have already heard, the Provincial government announced this week that places of worship may re-open effective June 12, 2020. This was much earlier than anticipated but it was still very welcome news.

Cottam United Church has a Task Group in place to help co-ordinate our re-opening. That Task Group met on June 11 in an effort to assess our ability to re-open on a safe and sustainable basis. Please note that any re-opening will be done in accordance with Provincial guidelines and the recommendations of the United Church of Canada.

The Task Group has created a plan for what we are calling Stage 1 of our re-opening. The current expectation is to re-open on July 5, 2020. There are so many things that need to be considered and we thought it necessary to take a few weeks to ensure that we do things safely and properly.

We are also looking at ways to continue our online worship for those who may not yet be able or willing to gather in the church for worship.

More details will be available as our re-opening date approaches. We will do our very best to ensure that everyone is as well informed as possible.

Blessings,
Pastor Kim
